And the Oscar goes to… Casaco do Sufjan Stevens

Para fechar o último domingo, aconteceu nos Estados Unidos a tradicional premiação do Oscar, que consagrou o filme “The Shape of Water”. Mas, fora isso, estamos aqui pela turma do indie.

O grande destaque ficou para Sufjan Stevens, espécie de gênio recluso da música alternativa, o talento de Detroit pela primeira vez nos seus 40 anos de idade apareceu com uma música em uma trilha. A faixa em questão é “Mystery of Love”, do filme “Call Me By Your Name”, uma das concorrentes em “melhor canção original”, categoria vencida por Gael García Bernal, Libertad García Fonzi e Gabriella Flores, com “Remember Me”, de Coco.

Ainda que não tenha vencido o prêmio, Sufjan fez uma bela releitura ao vivo no palco e contou com um time de peso como banda de suporte, incluindo nada menos que St. Vincent, Moses Sumney e Chris Thile, além de seus habituais colaboradores Casey Foubert e James McAlister.

Se não teve a melhor música, Sufjan ganhou o prêmio de melhor casaco:

** Quem também é da “nossa área” e apareceu na premiação foi Eddie Vedder. Ele, que virá ao Brasil no fim deste mês para shows solo e com o Pearl Jam, um deles no Lollapalooza, foi o responsável por embalar uma das partes mais tristes da cerimônia, que é a que homenageia artistas que morreram no último ano. Vedder cantou “Room at the Top”, de Tom Petty, um dos homenageados.
