O grande Lou Reed, ícone da cultura pop que “left the building” ontem, aos 71 anos, segue ganhando homenagens honestas. A mais nova que chega é de outro grupo ícone, o Pearl Jam, que em seu show na cidade de Baltimore na noite de ontem pagou tributo ao lendário músico, tocando a clássica “I’m Waiting For The Man”, um dos pontos altos do discaço de estreia “The Velvet Underground & Nico”, de 1967.

* Até agora, entre as diversas manifestações que vão tomando conta da mídia e redes sociais, destaque para muitos artistas que de certa forma tiveram algum tipo de ligação com o ex-Velvet Underground, seja como amigo próximo ou apenas como uma fonte de inspiração. Neil Young, por exemplo, reuniu Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis e a banda My Morning Jacket durante seu evento beneficente, The Bridge School, e juntos mandaram “Oh Sweet Nuthin”.
